When felting bags does it shrink vertically or horizontally? I can never remember! Anyway I am excited to see the final outcome. It seems link it will be smaller than the Andrea Bag, but we shall see :)

Progress
Ssshhhhhhh!!! My partner doesn't know who I am!! LOL I just had to show the progress. This is the first time ever knitting the Ballband bag, and I'm really not sure how big it's going to be. When felting bags does it shrink vertically or horizontally? I can never remember! Anyway I am excited to see the final outcome. It seems link it will be smaller than the Andrea Bag, but we shall see :)

It's gorgeous Miss Mandy!! The height on your bag should shrink more than your width (figure about 20-30% depending on how much aggitation you give it), but it sure looks like it'll be great once all felted up! I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

You'll definitely loose more vertically, that's why you have to make your felted bag so tall.

I believe the numbers are loosely 1/3 vertically and 1/4 horizontally, give or take a bit. Looks marvelous, though!
The bag looks fantastic! You seem to have a very lucky Gryffindor as a partner!!
the bag looks great so far... my bag shrank a lot vertically, but a bit more in width then I thought...
